Reflection: #HustleHERWay Summit

Something amazing happens when entrepreneurs get together in one room. Internal fires for greatness are stoked, untapped ideas are birthed, long awaited dreams become spoken and confirmed. But when a group of women who are focused, driven, motivated and walking on purpose get together, the power of sisterhood unites them, forces them to stand upright and helps them confront barriers preventing them from being able to HUSTLE HER WAY.

Kyshira Moffett (in the pink) is the visionary of the #HERmovement and this past weekend at the Hustle Her Way Summit, her vision brought women entrepreneurs together for a weekend of training, inspiration and networking. This Chief Bombshell Officer fulfilled her mission of creating a summit per the summit description "specially crafted for the visionaries, the creatives and the fearless." Her goal was "to provide ambitious women with the tools and resources they need to be successful in pursuit of their aspirations."

At the "Heels and Deals Networking" event at the Savoy on Friday there were photographers, attorneys, educators, doulas, bloggers, event planners and authors among the attendees. Throughout the room you could see women entrenched in conversation - giving their elevator pitches, hear laughter and indulge in great food. The atmosphere was feminine yet fierce with pink rose petals and candles adding to the ambiance of the room.

Life and business intersected at the #HustleHERWay Summit on Saturday. Miracle Reed kicked off the morning with her inspiring presentation, "Living with Determination." Some of the key takeaways from her presentation included an admonition to the women not to lose sight of their passion because roles in life change. She gave three important points about living with determination: Sacrifice, Passion and Vision. An entrepreneur asked a question, "If you have more than one passion, what do you do?" Miracle answered, "Think about what you are most skilled at and what is most profitable for you." This response is a great example of the type of thinkers that were in the room.

Ellyse Williams, the second speaker of the day shared her experiences as a global citizen. She not only gave us a charge to "turn the page" and travel, she debunked myths about international travel by walking us through a real example of an international travel itinerary. I was most thankful for the helpful hints Ellyse shared with us and appreciated that she shared her resources. As Ellyse stated, "Get comfortable being uncomfortable and be present in your journey" is a great mantra for a person seeking to travel out of the country. Traveling indeed can make a person a better leader! "A great leader takes risks." I'm excited to see Ellyse reach her goal of seeing forty countries before she reaches her fortieth birthday.

Two Bombshells. Amber Owens and Robin Rectinwald.
"Managing Your Financial Empire" was taught by Robin Rectinwald. Her passion for financial education was birthed through her experience of having to repay over $100K in student loan debt. She gave her personal experience with finding a financial planner who helped her create and stick to a budget that is paving the way for her to becoming debt free.

Robin and I met at the networking event and I shared with her that my daughter saved money to purchase her American Girl doll. She opened her session with this line, "If a nine year old can do it, you can too." You need to be able to manage your finances in order to be successful in business. Start today and find a support person to help you with your finances.

After the salad buffet. Kyshira took us to brand school. No, really, she schooled us on personal, professional and business branding. Branding is the "experience of you." When a person meets you they experience your brand. Not only is a brand important because it helps with career development opportunities, it builds credibility in your reputation and opens doors for you to be a content expert as a speaker. She strongly encouraged every woman in the room to write and consistently update a personal brand statement which can later be turned into a bio. This helps a person to know their value which sets you apart from passion which is personal. "Purpose is bigger than you."

Kyshira shared that an example of walking in purpose is her creating the #HustleHERWay summit. The ability to pass on information is making time to do what she needs to do to develop and advance her brand. The afternoon ended with a "Moguls in the Making" panel discussion.

As a business owner am still absorbing the information gleaned this weekend. I have made great contacts and plan to strengthen not only my brand but travel, stay on top of my financial empire and walk in determination. Thank you Kyshira and team for injecting me with a new vision for my vision.

#UnpluckableMe is ready to #HustleHERWay,
